What Are Eyezen Lenses?

Eyezen is Essilor's enhanced single vision lens designed for the modern digital lifestyle. Unlike standard single vision, Eyezen lenses feature a slight power boost in the lower portion of the lens to relax the eyes when looking at phones, tablets, and computer screens.

The Eyezen Boost

When you look at a smartphone or close-up task, your eye muscles (ciliary muscles) contract to focus. Over hours of screen time, this sustained contraction causes eye strain and fatigue. The Eyezen boost — a small addition at the bottom of the lens — reduces the effort needed to focus, allowing your eyes to relax.

  • Eyezen 1: +0.40D boost — light screen use, younger patients
  • Eyezen 2: +0.60D boost — moderate screen use
  • Eyezen 3: +0.85D boost — heavy screen use
  • Eyezen 4: +1.00D boost — all-day heavy digital users

Short Wavelength Light Filter

All Eyezen lenses include W.A.V.E. Technology — filtering harmful short-wavelength blue-violet light emitted by screens, while allowing beneficial blue-turquoise light through for healthy circadian rhythm.

Who Are Eyezen Lenses For?

Eyezen is ideal for anyone under 40 who doesn't yet need progressives but experiences digital eye strain, end-of-day headaches, or tired eyes after prolonged screen use.

Common Questions

Are Eyezen lenses the same as progressive lenses?
No. Eyezen are single vision lenses with a subtle boost zone. They don't have the reading addition of progressive or bifocal lenses and are appropriate for patients who don't yet need bifocal correction.
Will I feel the boost zone?
The boost is subtle and most wearers adapt instantly. Unlike progressives, there is no clear visual line or swim effect. The lens feels like a single vision lens.
What age is Eyezen best suited for?
Eyezen is most commonly prescribed for patients aged 20–45 who are beginning to notice digital eye fatigue but don't yet need reading glasses.
Does Eyezen include blue light filtering?
Yes — all Eyezen lenses include Essilor's W.A.V.E. Technology which filters harmful short-wavelength blue-violet light from screens.
